ZWIN (Zero Waste Initiative): Getting Involved

Volunteers needed!

Can you spare a few hours of your time
to help our local environment?

Volunteers needed to join Green Business Project

The Richmond Environmental Environment Network (REN) is calling for more volunteers to join the Zero Waste Initiative (ZWIN) team. ZWIN is an environmental project which encourages local organisations in the borough of Richmond-upon-Thames to improve their environmental performance by setting new policies designed to reduce waste, increase energy efficiency and recycling on a regular basis, whilst at the same time reducing costs.

Volunteers receive special training before taking part in this project and registration is now taking place. All training sessions are free and enable volunteers to carry out an initial onsite environmental assessment of an orgainsation's premises. Which includes the generation of a confidential written report which highlights any wasteful practises found, indicates savings and makes recommendations.

Joining the ZWIN team will appeal to people with an interest in environmental issues who have a few hours to spare each week. The project provides an opportunity to help protect our local environment, meet like-minded people and acquire new skills. Hours are arranged to suit individual circumstances. Previous experience is not essential, as guidance is given throughout the project.

If you would like to join the team, please register now by contacting the project leader preferably via email (details below).
